lost signal at dwl ap 1000

hello people.

I have a small problem. I have a dwl ap1000 wireless access point. I also
have a matching dwl 650 pcmcia card. About 2 weeks ago, I started having
erratic reception problems. The dwl wireless utility shows the ap and card
are having to constantly change channels. The reception goes from 6% to
about 85%. Another thing I noticed is that now, when I hover thre mouse
pointer over the wireless configuration utility icon in the task bar, it
shows "PRIMSTA". I've never seen that before.

Any pointers?
