Lost remote connectivity when applying new IP and subnet mask

I'm sure this is a simple fix.

I took our Windows 2003 Server (AD runs on it) and changed the IP address
from 192.168.1.29 to 1.67 and the subnet mask from /16 to /24 which is the
way all workstations are configured. Prior to the change remote branches
could access the server without any issues. Now that I've affected this
change the branches can't connect. I've gone into the Host File and added the
IP and Name of the server which doesn't seem to help. Although the Branches
do have email and internet services just don't have the ability to access the
shares on the above server. Or does the server appear in Network Connections
when trying to map the share.

So what is the simple answer that is looking at me and laughing because I to
close to the trees in the forest?

Thanks for all your help

Mike

Hi Mike, Have a read of this,

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/kb/164015

It should explain how subnet masks work and you will be able to relate
this information to your network.
