Lost connection on XP machine with WMP54g

My XP machine connected to my network has always had intermittent connection
problems with the WRT54g upstairs but today it has lost the connection
completely. I haven't changed anything with the setup.

I seem to recall other people experiencing the same thing. Any solutions?

Actually I have now discovered this is a more serious problem as the other
machine has also lost connection. If I reboot the main PC the router is
connected to the others connect again but lose the connection after 10-15
minutes.

I had to get thing up and running this morning after the power had been off
for a while, which took me a few attempt. Has the router been damaged
somehow.
