Lost broadband modem/router password - suggestions?

I have a Heritage modem/router (made in about 2001), and have changed
ISP. The device is set up for the old ISP and needs a username/
password to change the details - this has been lost, although I'm
pretty sure it was left as the default. I've tried the usual suspects
none of which work. Does anyone know of a way to reset this? There
is no obvious "hardware reset" that I can see.

have you tried "DSL" as both the username and password (all capitals)
