Windows 98 to Window 2000. Sees the other computer but
input password says is wrong password. But it is not the
wrong password therefore system has lost password and
won't allow access to other computer. How to remove old
password or change to newone? Won't let me in to other
passwords in system. Yikes - help

On the Windows 2000 computer, make a user with the same name (and password,
if one is used) that is used to start up the Windows 98 computer.

Do you suppose he is trying to log on to the C$ share?
Create a "New Share" for the C: drive.

Won't matter which share he's trying to connect to, if the problem was the
C$ share he should get an access denied message, not a password mismatch.

In my experience, I've seen the password mismatch, not denial.
Just my 2C.
