(Some of my) XP Professional workstations loose their connection every few
minutes to the server it seems. Anyone have a clue? No events in the log as
far as I know. I experience it with reading or copying for some time, like
playing music.

Hello Guus,

Check the switch you are using for problems. Update the NIC's to the latest
drivers. Also make sure that your ip configuration is correct between server
and workstation. Post an unedited ipconfig /all form server and one problem
client.

Best regards

Hello Guus,

Server loks ok for me. If you don't use IPv6 you can also uncheck it on the
NIC properties. On the first IP from ws1 remove the Router/DG IP form the
DNS server list. If you have domain internal DNS, never use the DNS from
another DNS server. Why has the client a second ip addresses, which is also
confusing, 172.16.9.1? And then the rest of the settings are again 172.16.2.x

Best regards
