My Windows 2003 server constantly loses network connectivity to the entire
network. It does this at random times, usally it is between three days and
ten days. The server is unable to talk to itself and the clients are unable
to connect to it. The clients are able to talk to themselves as long as they
a.) do not renew the IP address via DHCP, b.) do not restart, or c.) power
off.
I notice that the network connection icon in the task bar is "greyed" out
but not disabled. I have repaired this connection but that does not work. I
then have to restart the server in order to restore network connectivity
between the server and the clients.
Any advice on the cause and how to correct this is greatly appriciated.
