First thing to check is that they only point to an Active Directory domain
controllers running dns with the domain zone as their preferred dns servers.
You can use ipconfig /all to check such and compare to computers that are
not having a problem. NEVER allow an ISP dns server to be a preferred dns
server for a domain computer. If it still happens, run the support tool
netdiag on the computer next time it happens looking for failed tests for dc
discovery, dns, kerberos, trust/secure channel and also check Event Viewer
for any clues and try to ping the domain controller by name and fully
qualified domain name. If problems are found and dns is properly configured
I would suspect a bad network adapter, bad cable to the switch, a problem
with the switch port, or maybe even a hardware problem with the
omputer. --- Steve
