I just bought an MR814 wireless router (netgear) for use with my cable
modem for high-speed internet. I normally surf the web with my laptop
(with wifi card) and would like to use an old pentium III PC as a
print server to avoid the $100 or so for a hardware print server to
connect to my Brother printer.
Can anyone recommend a good print server software application. Even
better if its freeware. Thanks

The OS provides everything you need. Get the old pc on the network and visible
to the laptop. Then connect the printer to the old box, install the drivers on
the old box, then configure the printer to be shared across the network. Then
install the shared printer on the laptop.

Done and done, nothing extra required...

If your going to use an old pc, then what do you need print server
software for?? I'd just share the printer on the pc and you
(should)???? be all set.

Fineprint (http://www.fineprint.com/products/enterprise/) has a pretty nice
server application.

Unfortunately it isn't but there's a free trial.
