Looking for a network simulation tool

Hi,

I am looking for an open source / freeware Tool which can simulate different
network speeds, packet losses and network load in my local LAN. I want to
use this tool to test my applications regarding their network behaviour and
performance under different circumstances.

Can you recommend any tools?

Look at http://www.netlimiter.com/ , AFAIK that use LSP so that for winsock
apps only ( not apps using pipes , netbios... )

If you're able to run Linux you can try NIST:
