Looking to extend my WAP11 antenna

Currently, I have two WAP11's working as a bridge....they are sitting in
the windows of the two buildings with full line of site. Everything works
great!

What I would like to do is put ONE OF of the WAP11's on the floor, but using
some sort of extension cable, mount the antennas in the window frame.

I am looking for a 6' to 10' extension cables for each antenna (two in
total).

Does anyone have a good source for this?
Also, is there better approach for this?
Should I continue to use both antenna's - or can I get away with just one
(re-configure the unit)?

Thanks.

Depends which country you live in. If you're in the US, then I'd
suggest LMR195 as it's reasonably flexible, the run isn't long and you
can get the cable and connectors from www.fab-corp.com as one example.

Since it's already working with the stock antenna's that suggests that
everything is close by, you'd probably find that RG58 would work just as
well if you keep the cable as short as you can.

Nope, that's just fine.

Likelihood is that if you fit a better antenna, that one will be chosen
by the diversity logic anyway but you can turn it off if you wish.

I live in the US.
The WAP11's are about 50feet apart.
Each unit is sitting in a window with straight line of sight to each other.
I am using ver 1.1...which enabled me to use the WAP11 hack and pump up the
output.
The one window is in a main area and having the WAP11 on the sill is a bit
of any eyesore. The idea is to simply mount the two anntena in the window
frame, and have nice, tight cable runs back to the WAP11 on the floor
hidden.

Thanks.

What I said will work just fine, just avoid kinking the cable if you
can.

I just spoke to a company who sells cables/connectors. The feedback was
that the Linksys antenna are 0 gain antenna...and that you cannot disconnect
them from the unit and put a cable in the middle due to gain loss of the
cable.

His feedback was that I needed to change the antenna to something that has
some gain to it, to compensate for the gain loss introduced by the new cable
/ pigtail.

Does this seem correct?

Just to qualify that that will only be true if the unit has fallen back,
it's not exactly a linear thing.

50', Jim has already stated that. He can lose quite a lot of signal
before it becomes a problem.

It's not antennas I am after - but cabling to relocate my existing antennas.

Have you tried just taking the one out of the window and putting it on
the floor? If it i only 50 feet, it could still work, depending on
the composition of the wall it would then be radiating through.

Does it work (and what is the wall made of)?

I have a very old house (60+years). All the internal walls are plaster (no
drywall) and the external walls are cinder block with metal screening over
it and then stucco over the metal screening. The walls maintain high
humidity levels - especially in the summer with the A/C always on and the
tons of rain we have all summer.

My test was simple --- ping -t the access point in the other building --
and see whats happens when I moved the local access point below the window
and on to the floor. As soon as I go to several inches below the glass (and
the window wooden frame), the pings would time out / die.
