Looking to Buy an Orinoco Wireless for Linux Fedora

Hello,

I have Fedora 3 and a laptop, looking to purchase a Orinoco Classic
Gold wireless card model 8410-WD, thought I'd see if anyone has had
success or failure in using this card for Linux or Fedora Core3?

I am looking to use the card in Promiscuous mode with Ethereal. My
Linksys card just doesn't cut it...

Hi Tory,

i know, its not the answer u want...
I believe its no problem to get an orinoco run, there are many howto's
about it!

It's a mess, I never tried to scan with fedora. But the card was ready
to use for normal operations without complications...

And on SuSE there wasn't a great problem to scan...
on knoppix I could use kismet, ethereal and other things without any
problem with that orinoco card...

But I think, soon somebody is giving u the REAL answer u want

But until that, don't worry it maybe would not be possible to make this
card work for your use.
