How long should it take to get migration codes?

Has anyone recently migrated ADSL isps? If so, how long did it take
for you old isp to provide you with MAC codes?

I asked for my MAC off AOL yesterday and they gave me it immediately over
the phone and emailed it also

Demon took 24 hours, I would say this is the norm.

OK, next question would be what would you do if your isp doesn't
respond?

On the 4th November I last spoke with my isps support phone number
enquiring about MAC codes upon which the said if I emailed them the
service details of the ISP I intended to migrate to they would see if
they could match it if I stayed with them. I did and a further phone
call confirmed they would match things and it was on their "things to
do for next week list" on completion I would get a further email with
the details.
From that day to this I have emailed and phoned their number to no
response by email and only answer phone response by phone. When the
answer phone was available to leave a message I left my home phone
number and asked them to ring back. Still no reply and now the answer
phone message simply says "ring back later" with no option to leave a
message.
On the 1 December 2004 I sent a recorded delivery letter requesting my
MAC codes stating no response in over a month was unacceptable which
according to the royal mail web site was signed for at the ISPs given
address on 2nd December 2004, to date still no reply!

They normally debit my debit card for the service provided at the same
time monthly but to date have not done so for November (the last month
I was contracted to them for a min 6 month contract).

What would you do next in my circumstances?
