long pause when clicked on network drive

I using login script to map drives. on initial logon on an xp machine, I can
see the drives in my computer.

But when clicking on it the first time, It will turn to an hour glass for
maybe 20seconds before showing all the folders

The network share is a windows 2003 server

Anyone experiencing this issue?
