Hi
Are there any options that would let two houses about 500-750 metres apart share a wireless connection? It's a rural situation with only the odd tree between the houses.

Fine if you have expertise and equipment to set them up and can still comply
with the regulatory requirements and Health and Safety requirements. With
respect I doubt the OP has the required knowledge or skills.

For pity's sake, what do you base that on? The hardest part will be to
fit the appropriate connector, and ensure that suitable cable is used to
minimise any losses. Sure, it's not the same as wiring a mains plug, but
give the interested individual some credit for commonsense (if he's not
feeling up to the job, his efforts might still be better than getting some
'cowboy' that does satellite TV installations with all the wrong tools!)

As for H+S, well, that's in question if someone is being employed to
do the fitting. Tell me everyone doing DIY adheres to H+S rules and
I'll eat my hat!

Thanks for the ideas and links.

When health and safety is being discussed regarding the hi gain antennae/dishes, is it referring to making sure they are secure so as not to fall and hit someone/something or is it to do with the transmitted signal?

It can be to do with looking into the dish as higher power/ frequency
microwave tx can be dangerous to eye tissue.
