Logon times for XP pro workstations are extremely long
compared to NT 4.0 workstations on the same domain with
W2003 server. Approximately 10 seconds to get to the
desktop on NT and 4 minuets plus for same user on XP.
Each user runs the same logon script and has a home
folder on the server. Not running the logon script has no
effect. But doing away with the home folder, the XP
workstations reach the desktop screen in about 50
seconds. Is this normal, or am I looking in the wrong
direction.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Mark

I am experiencing the same issues right now. It looks be
associated with Policies. I have found one article that I
have note tested. yet. Here's the link;

Let me know if this works or what you did to resolve.

Are the XP clients set to use the local DNS server which hosts the SRV
records for your domain? XP clients need these records to find the logon
server. NT clients use its Netbios special name <domainname 1C> .
