I have a native server enviroment... i have a certian user that was using
windows 2000 for over 2 years... since i've upgraded her to windows XP she's
having issues with my logon script.

When the script runs it seems to prompt the user for a username and password
when running this line.

net use lpt1 \\fileprintserver\printer /persistent:yes

so... i'm wondering if XP has an issue with the net use command being
persistent? or something alone those lines... on a win 2000 machine she
isn't getting this prompt (or it's hidden and doesn't cause the system to
hang)

Just wondering if anyone has come across this issue.

thanks.

Hi,

this is due to Windows XP security hardening.

Non-Administrators Cannot Remap an LPT Port to a Network Printer
