I just installed Server 2003 (small business). Client PC's takes
longer time to login to the network. I just replaced NT 4.0 which was
better than this.
I think there is a timeout issue.

Do you guys know where to fix it? I would appreciate a lot.

Hi,

How is your client's DNS set up under TCP/IP settings? Does it point to
Active Directory DNS (your DC IP)? If not change it so.

Clients find domain controller by looking to domain. If client has e.g. your
ISP's DNS enter they won't get correct answer since your ISP doesn't know
(probably) anything about your internal domain.

I hope this helps,

Mike

I had exactly the same issue.

Open TCP/IP properties on the client, remove the DNS entries for your ISP.
mazke sure the Win2k3 DNS server address is the only one listed.

Login times dropped from over 3 minutes to five seconds or so.
