Greetings,

I'm using all XP's on a 2003 network.

For some users and myself (the admin), we log on fine
with correct names and passwords. Then, if we try to
access the server computer through My Network, we are
again prompted for name/pwd. Upon entering the name/pwd,
it is rejected over and over.

I can't find any explanation. It worked fine in the past.
The permissions on the shares are fine (I'm sure). Also,
this occurs when specifying just the computer name,
before any specific shares. It is also not a name or
password change problem.

Shares on other computers are accessed fine.

How can it be that authenticated users including the
admin are barred access?????

Thanks for any help.

Ali

I am having the same problem...Did you recently do a
windows update? There were two patches that recently were
out that I think might present a problem...let me know
what you find (E-Mail Removed)

That's why Windows Update is disabled (and will remain so) on all our
machines. I only install the patches that *I* decide I want. I trust the AV
software to protect us from viruses better than I trust the constant barrage
of patches to handle the alledged vulnerabilities. I also keep our system
well isolated and protected from the internet via Firewalls & Proxys. With
the exception of a few well-known and established patches, I always wait for
the full service pack.
