my computer keeps saying it's not logged onto the network,
so i can't access my other computer to print, share files,
etc. i don't even have a clue what the username or
password would be, let alone where or when to enter
them... please help!!

Open up port 110 in windows firewall.

Can you PING the other computer? If so, this isn't a Microsoft Hardware
issue. Try posting in the general Windows XP or Windows XP networking
groups.
