Hi,
There is no need to "install" the printer on the server. Printer redirection
will install it automatically at logon time **IF** the appropriate driver is
installed or available for installation.
I suspect you get Event 1111 in the server System event log when you logon
through RDP from this computer. The Event will tell you which printer driver
you need to install on the server for the redirection to work.
Go to Dell website and download the driver for the 1710n for W2K Server and
install it from Printers | Server properties.
