Hi,

I stupidly removed the addition of .local out of my domain name, and now can
mail internaly or externally with exchange.
I've been told that it is because of the removal of the .local in the
domainnaam that this happens.
Is this right?
And if so, is there a quick and save way for me to change the domainname
without haveing to reïnstall all users/profiles on their pc's and exchange?

I'm running a win2003 SBS server with Exchange.

Thanks.

Single-label DNS domain name and changing sbs domain name are not

You can't rename a domain in SBS. Try posting in m.p.windows.server.sbs for
more expert help - describe exactly what you did and what your backup
situation is.

Hello Domé,

How did you remove the .local? And where, please describe in detail what
you have done. Normally you can not rename a SBS domain.

Also problems with SBS better post to:
microsoft.public.windows.server.sbs

Hello Domé,

I don't know if reentering the .local in the system properties computer name
field is the easy solution. After changing the entry you have to reboot the
server. Do you have a good tested backup from the server BEFORE you changed
the entry?

Best regards

That's good - pls continue in there.

In the future if you need to post to multiple groups, you can crosspost to
both / all at once, separating the group names with semicolons or commas or
whatever your newsreader requires.
