Local Area Connection issue on Windows Server 2003 R2

I recently installed Windows Server 2003 R2 standard edition on my Dell
dimension 5150 computer. The installation went successfully with no error
messages at all. The system is working fine except that:

I am unable to create a Local Area Connection. When I go to Control Pannel
--> Network Connection --> New Connection Wizard, the New Connection Wizard
starts. I tried all possible combinations in the wizard, the wizard completes
successfully, but I see nothing after that.

I have installed the windows component called “Application Server�.

Any help will be appreciated.

You do not create LACs. If you have a NIC in your computer it should
automatically show up as an LAC. If you want an additional network interface
you can install the Microsoft Loopback Adapter.
