Hello,
Lately with one of my customers I have trouble with the Microsoft NLB.
The NLB doesn't balance right.
We have three Terminal Servers with exactly the same specs. Another
server is load balancing between these three.
For some reason every few days the NLB stops functioning right and
balances uneven. Because of this, sometimes about 40 users are at the
first terminal servers while at the other two terminal servers there
are only about 8 users each.
The terminal server which has 40 users at it regularly isn't always the
same server. It differs between the three servers.
Furthermore, when the load on the fully occupied terminal server is
much higher than the other two servers, the users still get connected
to the fully occupied server.
After rebooting server which load balances between the two the problem
sometimes persists. Then after rebooting the terminal servers the
problem is solved for a few days.
There aren't any NLB errors to be detected in the event log.
Could anyone suggest a method of troubleshooting this problem? It's
hard to find any information for troubleshooting a NLB problem.
I would think a packet tracer would be an option of troubleshooting,
but where should I look for then.
I look forward to your replies.
