Hello,

I recently replaced my Linksys BEFW11S4 (b) with a WRT54g. I "had" Linksys'
signal booster on the old "b" router/AP. Can I use the signal booster on
my new "g" router/AP ? Linksys' webpage only lists the b as being supported
and an e-mail response from them said they don't have a signal booster yet
for the WRT54g.
Could I fry anthing by using the booster on a 54g router/AP ???

Many thanks in advance,

Gene Gjesvold

It does actually work with the 54G router/AP, it's just against FCC
regulations to do so, though I doubt the FCC is going to come knocking your
door down to drag you away if you use it.

Has anyone actually tried/tested it with it? I don't see why it wouldn't,
since it is the same frequencies. Is it against FCC because the WRT54g has
too strong of a signal with the booster?

Does it require any adapters to connect to the WRT54G? I heard a
rumor that the antenna conections are different on the power booster
than the WRT54G router. If so, is there an adapter available at radio
Shack?

I have actually tested it and it worked. I guess it just hasn't been
verified for 802.11g use.
