Here's the e-mail from Pipex detailing their policy:-

We are sorry to hear that you are considering moving to another service
provider for your broadband. At this stage we should have already discussed
your migration request with you. If not, please give us a call so we can see
if there's anything we can do.
Once a Mac code has been issued, your Pipex Broadband will automatically be
ceased in 30 days. If you would like to change your mind and stay with
Pipex, please e-mail:
(E-Mail Removed) within 25 days so we can keep your
Pipex Broadband service active.
Please find your MAC code below.
LYTH........./xxxxL
Cancellation Charges...
Please note, if your Pipex Broadband service is still within its first 12
months, contract cancellation charges may apply - see our terms and
conditions for details at:
http://www.pipex.co.uk/legal
Any incentives that you may have previously taken on the basis of staying
with Pipex for another 12 months will also be charged back to you. These
charges will be processed within the next few days if applicable.
Pipex was one of the first UK ISPs and, for 13 years, has been an industry
leader associated with many awards and innovations. We plan to be around for
a long time yet and sincerely hope you choose to stay with us. In the event
you still migrate to another service provider, Pipex will of course always
welcome you back with open arms.
Kind regards
Mark Carberry
Sales & Service Director
Pipex "
