I think some more detail is needed, such as which linux distro,
what make of ADSL router or modem, how is it connected to the PC?

2 things:
First I believe that you seriously should consider upgrading to a never
distro.
If you want to stay RedHat, it would be either CentOS 4.2 (I believe) or
Fedora Core 4.
Second you pop into your Network properties under Windoze and fetch
whatever info you can about DHCP-settings, gateway, DNS-server etc.
Having done that (and on your way out fetching mail account details as
well) you switch to Linux and under the network settings adjust to what
you just got from the 'doze side. That's what usually helps when I help
folks migrate to Linux. The DSL-modem is assumed to be intelligent, having
a web-interface to set it up etc. If it only works with a Win-driver,
Google for info on '$YOUR_MODEM_NAME linux' and have in mind that you
might have to throw it out or use it as a paperweight if no modules can be
found to run it.
Again, more info on your system would help. Your query goes a bit like
this: "Doctor, I'm not feeling well. Cure me."

Good luck.

Jan, OZ1DKE.

Firstly, thank for your help;
Secondly,I must say that when somebody got some sick even he doesn't
know. What he can say is that "I'm not feeling well".
But I also thank you to advise me to check system help which is more
directly
