Hello all,
I don't know a lot about networking, but I've been using my WinXP Pro
system to connect to a system (also running WinXP Pro) through Remote
Desktop. There is some sort of tunnel settings involved (I've saved
screen captures of the settings in WinXP, so if I had to re-install, I
could set it up again). Also, I believe terminal services is running on
the system I'm connecting to.
Now, what I want to do is set up this same connection through my
Linspire 5-O system (dual-boots with my WinXP, so uses all the same
hardware). I have already installed the Remote Desktop software through
CNR, but I don't know how to go about entering my tunnel settings in
Linspire. Remote Desktop software under Linspire works fine, as I can
connect to a WinXP system that doesn't require this tunnel thingy (just
the IP and port number).
Not using anything special on the remote WinXP system...just whatever
came with in the OS, AFAIK...
Looking at my screen captures now, the main program's title in WinXP is
Console1, from which other dialog boxes came from. I see dialog boxes
with headings such as IP Security Rules, IP Filter Lists, Filter Action,
Authentication Methods, Tunnel Setting, Source Address, Source Mask,
Pre-shared Key, etc.
Isn't there a similar program in Linspire for setting all this up?
As I said, I'm not really familiar with networking, so I'd appreciate
some detailed instructions on what I would need and how to set this up
in Linspire/Linux.
Thanks in advance,
Mark
