Hey guys, I'm a newbie to the linux world and am wanting to get
involved with administration and such where I work. I have a linux box
running Ubuntu right now. Can someone please tell me what I need to
create a DNS server? (i.e., static IP? where to learn about zone,
ets?). Again, I'm a newbie but just got my CCNA and need to delve
into linux to make myself more marketable. Thanks.

You need 2 servers, one master and one slave to host your own dns
services.

The common way is to find someone else with the same problem,
and you act as dns slaves for each other.

Or use the service secondary DNS from dyndns.org

All info you need is in the bind package (the docs).
(and normal knowledge of networking)
