Needing to setup a Linux network server that will install our non
standard Linux OS build using a kickstart file.

Any suggestions?

Thanks.

I suppose you want to install your build of Linux on a set of
machines, and want a server to put the distribution into.

Then it all depends on the kickstart file you have, in the
kickstar you specify the method of installation, and the location
of the installation files. I think you can also give some options
at boot time at the machines to tell them where the files are.

So I would use a FC3 or RHEL/CentOS server machine with DHCP
server enabled and the method of installation enabled, I would
use NFS if you can.

If you mean to setup a installation server machine so that you could
install OS on all other machines over network to keep same environment
accross the site.
Then you can use PXE(Preboot execution environment) setup. PXE setup
requires DHCP for providing hostname and IP against broadcast request
and PXE server IP. After it PXE handles all other OS installation
steps. At PXE server you need to run pxe daemon and its configuration
file which will have boot kernel and kickstart file path.
If you are looking for the same then let me know I can tell you
complete setup procedure.

Could you elaborate? Didn't understood where your problem is and
what do you need to know?
