Linux network build server

Hello all!

Our shop has our own modified non-standard Linux build, ES3 on CD's.
What I need to do is build a server and a process that will distribute
this build over a network to configure multiple OS drives at one time.
We administer over 600 servers. I am tasked with coming up with a
method for our maintenance techs to replicate new drives un-attended.

Say that again....

Are you saying that you have 600 machines that
you want to load a custom version of linux on?

When you say 'replicate new drives un-attended'
is this a new machine that you want to put an OS
image on... one per machine, or do you have
30 drives in a big-ass server that you want to
copy data to each of those 30 drives on the one
machine? And... when you say unattended... do you
expect the machine to power it self on and some
robotic arm install/remove the drive? What level
of work do you expect from the techs?

Also... if you want to image your OS onto 600
machines... 1) do you care about existing data
on the machine and 2) are the machines IDENTICAL,
or do some have different size drives, different
video, different type of drives ( scsi, ata, ide )
etc.
