Hi Everyone,

I've picked up a small smattering here and there, but,
due to my current work assignment, am digging in and trying to learn alot
more. The latest version I can find of the Linux Network Administrator's
Guide, in section 5.2,
page 83, says to obtain a set of the latest Linux networking utilities and
applications from their official
home site at:

ftp://ftp.inka.de/pub/comp/Linux/networking/NetTools,
and to look for a file named something like

net-tools-XXX.tar..gz

As far as I have been able to determine, this site no longer exists. Can
someone who has been involved in the stuff for a few years please tell me
where I am now to look for these files, both binaries and source. The
experience also causes me to have some doubts about the Linux NAG
manual itself, since it clearly is not being kept up to date. Can anyone
offer an opinion as to how correct / up-to-date it is, and perhaps point me
to something more current and which is being actively maintained. Thanks
alot for your help.

Hi,

looking for binaries, www.rpmseek.com is pretty much comfortable. If you
need the sources you can extract these from a src.rpm. Besides, Google is
your friend. "net-tools unix rpm" will give you a couple of good links,
including
http://linux.maruhn.com/sec/net-tools.html
where you can find both, binaries and sources.
