Linux (?Fedora Core 3?) hardware compatibility question.

I've a small heterogeneous LAN and recently acquired broadband
connectivity. I've decided I wanted a simple Unix-like gateway
machine to handle email; to join my wired and wireless network; to
network print and offer a mechanism to store back-up copies of data on
my laptops.

I first tried going with FreeBSD - but have run into difficulties
with hardware support - especially for my ADSL modem. I intend to
use an existing 96Mb 300Mhz Celeron box currently running FreeBSD
successfully linking my wired and wireless networks. I would like to
avoid buying new hardware if possible. I'm considering Linux as a
BSD alternative (which I'm hoping has more up-to-date hardware
support.)

Specifically I'm most interested in establishing support for these
devices:
* "SpeedTouch 330" (Revision 4) USB ADSL modem - the silver one.
I need to use it to connect to a PPPoA service from my ISP.
* Dlink DWL-G520 PCI 802.11G wireless network card.

I've tried looking at hardware.redhat.com - but either Redhat no
longer supports the range of hardware it did in the late 90s (when I
last used it) or I'm looking in the wrong place. Any hints? Does
anyone else use Fedora Core 3 with these devices? Is Fedora Core 3 the
best choice for a "cheap and easy" solution?

Google.com (and groups.google.com) are your friends. Look what I found by
typing in "speedtouch 330 linux":

Once again, google turned this up by typing in "DWL-G520 linux":

http://sourceforge.net/projects/madwifi/

Thanks for the links - I'd found those links too... What I'd really
like to know is:

a) Are these drivers included in Fedora Core 3 (or how can I find out
before I install the OS myself?)
b) As I also found conspicuous documentation for FreeBSD support (which
later turns out to have proved flawed (not only for myself, but also
for many others) - I wondered if Anyone is actually using the
"Speedtouch 330 USB (REV4)" ADSL modem with PPPoA (not PPPoE which is
widely discussed) on Linux; and if anyone can report positive
experience with the Atheros drivers?
