linux compatible pcmcia or usb ethernet adapter?

Can someone recommend an affordable 10/100Mbps PCMCIA or USB ethernet
adapter that can work easily in Linux? When I browsed through my kernel
config options I only saw a couple listed there but there may be
external support for a lot of them.
