Linux & WiFi Cards

I've got LM 9.1 dual booting with XP Home on my Compaq Presario 2100 /
2140US. I'm writing from XP now because I've failed, several times, to get
WiFi working. I've got to disable PCMCIA services on boot or the PC locks
and requires a power off reboot. I've got two WiFi cards to use. A D-Link
DWL-G650 or a SpeedStream SS1021. I'm not skilled enough to recompile the
kernel so if there is an easier way; or if there is a card that I can buy
that will work with no extra work, please let me know.

When I'm wired to my home network, I can use Linux exclusively for all the
uses I need. I only need to do word processing and presentations, which
open office does nicely, email and web browsing using Mozilla. However, the
point of this laptop is to be wireless.

Any help on these cards or a new card that would work without lots of
configuration would be appreciated.

Visit http://team.vantronix.net/ar5k/ and follow the directions carefully.
The D-Link AG650 and G650 are one of the few 54g capable cards with Linux
drivers. I have used them. You do not need to recompile the kernel, but do
require the kernel sources. You only need to compile the module.
