Hi everybody, i´ve just installed Suse 8.2 and everything is running right
but the internet conection, i´m connected with a cable modem and an ethernet
card, set up the DHCP client and it seems that everything is going well,
however when i try to browse the web i get the answer "requesting
www.yahoo.com" and later a message stating that maybe i should check the
name.

I guess that the dhcp server is sending me the proper information about
DNSs´and ips´ so i don´t understand anything.
This is my cmputer conf.
Amd Athlon Xp 2200
1 Gb Ram
3 Hd
Hda------120 GB-----Windows Xp
Hdb----- 4 GB--------Suse 8.2
Hdc------1 GB
Eth0-Realtek 8.????, i dont remember now.
Eth1-3Com Boomerang
and my modem-cable is a RCA

I apoligize for my English.
Thanks in advance.

Try to set the DNS server as the DHCP servers IP address.

Ok, mates, thank you for your answers, i wrote yahoo because it was the
first url i had in mind, i tried, as well, connecting to an exact IP
address. There is a point i did not write in my last message and it´s that
the system can´t get an IP while booting, it sends me a message telling
something like " no IP address yet..............backgrounding". I´m going to
change right now to Linux because i´m in windows at this moment (otherwise i
wouldn´t be able to write here) and i´ll post later the ifstatus command
displays.

Sounds like dhcp isn't functioning.

What dhcp client are you using? Pump? Dhcpcd? Dhclient? If pump, then try
another dhcp client -- a couple of years ago we discovered that pump only
works well in machines with one network interface.

Humm. So you did get a valid dhcp lease...

How does the output of 'route -n' look like?

HMM... interesting...

What says 'ping -c 1 81.202.152.1'? What about 'ping -c 1 194.100.160.2'
(trying to determine wheter any packets get anywhere...)

What about 'traceroute 194.100.160.2'?

Timo, i've tried that and the packets were lost or the host is unreacheable
(or something like this).
