linux access to msn

I signed up for a DSL account with Qwest and msn - because the price was
good. Don't much relish having to use the win98 machine to access my
e-mail, and don't much care for web mail (I can access e-mail that way). I
did get to the tech support line, and (of course) they have no linux
support. I got them to help me set up outlook express on the win98 box,
and find that they use a "web based pop3 server". Specifically, choose the
'http server' option in OE and enter the server as
'http://oe.msn.msnmail.hotmail.com/cgi-bin/hmdata' and then it works.

I cannot find any linux e-mail clients that can handle anything beyond
pop3, imap, and a couple of linux options. QUESTION: how can I do my
e-mail from linux? Has anyone found a way to do this? I was told that
there were pop3 and smtp servers, but I can't get them to work.

thanks

I have found 'hotwayd' which, when installed, will allow standard
mail-readers to read MSN mail. No advance yet on sending e-mail.
