I compiled mplayer and am able to view the *.asf files that are sent as
email
attachments. I now have to try the streaming video.

Jean

that's exactly what i did... eventually! i use fedora core 3 and installed
a shed load of rpms and it didn't work. i've never compiled source
before after removing all the rpms

i installed 'wine' and tried to install the player that's provided on the
cd... it didn't work out :-(

it works if you install a copy of vmware then install windows. i only have
a couple of weeks left though :-)

as it installs some activex component when you first connect to the camera
_and_ not being a programmer, i have no idea where to start in getting
this to work in linux.

i'd be grateful if you'd let the group know if you have any joy getting it
to work.

good luck!

I am having trouble with the streaming video.
My command line is:
mplayer -v -v -v
http://user:passwd@video/img/image.c...le=main_fs.htm >
linksys_test

where video is the IP address 192.168.255.101 and

linksys_test records the debug information.

What command line did you use?

Regards,
Jean

Answering my own question:

mplayer http://userasswd@video/img/video.asf

works, also

wget --http-user=user --http-passwd=pass http://video/img/video.asf

will save the video stream.

where video = IP of linksys camera.

Regards,
Jean
