I have a Linksys WUSB54G on an XP Pro machine.
It seems to loose the connection to the WAP periodically, then I get a
message that wireless networks are available, but when I choose the AP I
keep getting the same message.

I have to reboot and then it does not seem to recognize the adapter unless I
unplug and replug it.

Anyone else seeing this?

I have similar problem. I have a Linksys WRT54G wireless router connected to
my cable modem. I have a latptop running Windows 2000 Professional with
Service Pack 4 and with this same Linksys WUSB54G USB 2.0 wireless network
adapter, and I keep loosing wireless connection periodically, too. The only
way I can get back the connection is (without re-booting the laptop/Windows
2000 by the way) to un-plug the WUSB54G and then replug it, then WUSB54G
wireless moniter application would re-connect. Without un-plugging and then
re-plugging the WUSB54G, it does not matter how long I try re-connecting
with the wirelss monitor application, it simply won't connect!

I have been pulling my hairs for quite sometime trying to solve this
connection break/drop problem without any success. I have updated with
firmware revision V2.00.8 for my wireless router WRT54G hardware reivison
V1.1. For this router, I have tried firmware revisions V1.42.2, V1.42.3 and
then V2.00.8. I also followed quite a few suggestions to address this issue
from this newsgroup, but none of them helped...

Intersting.
My problem is a bit different in that I have 2 other machines with WUSB54Gs
that connect perfectly.
I have tried swapping adapters but no change.
I will let you know if I hear anything.
