I just got this router a couple weeks ago and it performs just fine but I
notice that there are two additional "wholes" above the LEDs for WLAN and 1
(where it says "Wireless G"). So the light from the LEDs below shine
through. I guess it's not a big deal but it looks odd up close. Anyone
else see this?

Thanks,
Richard

The holes in the case should be covered by the front panel plastic thing,
and you have to look pretty close to see the light come through them. That
is just the way they make it. I never even noticed until I read your message
lol!

It's not a defect. Linksys is using the same chassis that they used for
previous routers, they just stick a new plastic faceplate on it. My dad had
a much older linsys router with many more lights than the new ones have.
Linksys actually reduced the number of led's but were still packaging it in
the same case. When I pulled my new one out, I expected to have the same
router that my dad had, but it was slightly different. I believe this
change occurred between the rev 1.xx and rev 2.xxx of the wrt54g router
line.

Yea, that was my first thought too. I once had a Linksys router for about a
week a long time ago but returned it because it was freezing on me. That
router had tons of lights on it. The only reason why I thought this was a
defect was because there were only two holes visible (there were no such
holes over the other ports). However, I have gotten confirmation that this
can be seen on at least a few other's routers. No biggie.
