Linksys WRT54GS Authentication

I have a WRT54GS access point and WPC54GS laptop card but seem to be having
trouble with WPA.
Everything is setup as WPA - PSK - TKIP. The laptop shows WPA for Encryption
and authentication and works OK if the AP is set for Authentication Type =
Auto. But if I change Authentication Type to Shared Key the laptop
momentarily shows WPA-RADIUS, then connection is lost.
Looking at the instructions Auto seems to mean OPEN which I don't want.

Searching Google I've seen Odyssey mention if your using Win2k, this is on
the install CD but doesn't seem to do anything.

Any ideas appreciated.

The range of the Linksys g card is crap compared to an Orinoco b card I

There's no support for shared key authentication with WPA. It uses open
key for initial authentication, and then 802.1X authentication if that
is available and selected.
