[Slight correction to my previous post]. Suppose someone comes to visit and
brings a notebook computer with wireless capability. Is there any method of
enabling my visitor to gain temporary
wireless access without (prior post said 'with') providing my WPA password?

The only way is to plug them in via the CAT5 socket therefore bypassing the wifi
WPA.
