Linksys WRT54G firewall

I have an early model Linksys WRT54G wireless router (I think it's a
v.1 or v1.1). When I bought it, I understood that it had NAT, but NO
firewall. Now, I have read that the current model
(WRT54Gv.2)implements a SPI firewall. I've gotten mixed messages from
Linksys tech support with respect to whether I can get this capability
by upgrading the firmware or if I have to purchase a new router. Does
anyone know for sure if a WRT54Gv.1 (with the latest firmware) has a
SPI firewall? Is there any way to test my connection to determine if
a firewall actually is running in the router?

Try usng the hacked firmware first. It has all the goodies that you
will need.
