I have Linksys sending me a replacement WRT54G because of a similar problem
I've been having. For no apparent reason, signal strength drops. I connect
to the router via a wired connection and change the Channel from 11 to 1 and
then back again. Things work fine from that point for a couple of days when
the same thing happens again. I'm thinking it is a hardware issue and the
person at Linksys agreed.
