Linksys wmp54g problem

Issue is that the card is installed in a Windows ME generic white box
PC. Device Manager says everything is fine. Shows up in the networking
area, everything looks fine. Using latest drivers for card and latest
firmware for the router (it's both 801.11b and g)

Problem is that it doesn't see the signal. The utility software does
not see the signal. So the card just sits there deaf and dumb. No
lights. No activity.

I uninstall the card and reconnect the USB adapter (801.11b) and the
signal strength and quality are 95 each and everything works just
fine. So the router is good, it's broadcasting, teh network setings
are fine because they work.

But the card is allegedly installed fine but just sitting there.

Anyone have an idea what might be the problem?

I have the same problem with a retail box of the card. I
returned the first card and the second card has the same problem.

I tried other slots and another system (Win2000) and got the
same results.

Waiting for an answer from linksys tech support.
