Hello folks many thanks for reading this post.

I have purchased the following kit:
Linksys WMP45G (wireless pci)
Linksys WAG54G (adsl/router)

I cannot get my XP to recognise and enable the WMP54G at all. I have tried
the drivers on the retail CD-Rom provided and also d/l the most current
drivers from Linksys site however none work. Everytime I tried to direct XP
Device Manager towords the folder with the driver file I get "Could not find
associated drivers".

The WMP54G shows up in device manager with the yellow (!) sign as PCI
Controller it will only change to the name Wireless-54G after I go throough
the motions of selecting the appropriate hardware manaufacturer and item
type manually from "Add New Hardware".

I have read about other people with issues with this card in XP - however
some have had success but none of the msg boards tell of how they achieved
it.

I have tried various combinations of PCI Slots on the board and even tried
having only the WMP54G in the M/B but to no avail. I have also tried a fresh
XP install with/without Sp1

I am running:
XP Pro
P4 2.8
1gig DDR
Abit IS7-E

Any help would be appretiated.

Mark

I have a WRT54G trying to run on XP Home, and have a similar problem.

I will gladly read any solutions.

While I'm using D-Link's DWL650 and 650+ and a laptop with one pcmcia slot
(and
no motherboard slots to swap to) I have basically the same problem. Yellow
(!) with
Code 12 (not enough resources). Both cards had worked over two months, and
simply
failed to start on power up one day, probably after an XP auto-update the
day before.
From what I've seen from multiple web searches, problem affects cardbus
cards of all
types. Just thought misery might enjoy company...I'll forward any relevant
info I find.

Hi Igor,

we share your pain!

After i select a specific hardware manaufacturer ie. Linksys and then
Wireless-G from the "Add New Hardware" wizzard. I then redirect XP to find
either the drivers that came on the install CD or the drivers that I d/l'd
from Linksys site.

Strangely although NONE actually work for me (I get Code 10 Device cannot
start) the drivers on teh install CD are the only ones that are Digitally
Signed.

A well I reckon RMA this back in the post and purchase another Wireless
card.
