Don't Belkin's Hardware carries lifetime warranties?

Try Amazon.co.uk ... don't know if Linksys is better. But a working router
is a good router anyway.

I used to have a Sitecom WL 018, and it died after a year. I contacted
Sitecom, and they told me to take it back to Maplin, and exchange for a new
one. Apparently, Sitecom and Maplin have an agreement that Sitecom products
sold in Maplin carry two years exchange replacement warranty. Yesterday,
out of curiously, I plugged my brand neew Sitecom WL 025 router, where my
Linksys router used to be, and so far, I have no complaint. There may be
few things need to be polished, but must say, it packs with features.

Try to contact Belkin, and see what's their exchange policy is.

Anyway, Linksys routers are good. I have two, and have never got a trouble
from it.

Regards

Garfield

How long have you had the Belkin? And what happened? I'm asking as I'm
having problems with mine (all my machines can see the wireless network but
can't connect despite me having made no changes to the router or any of the
machines).

Coincidentally I've been looking at the same Linksys as you, so I'd be
interested in other replies.

Yes Belkin have a lifetime guarantee, mine the WAN light is continually
flashing and the wireless side is not working.

Belkin been a nightmare no email replies, contacted them lines are in India
and are really bad, have to repeat yourself twice.

Phoned tonight and was on for 10 min just going to RMA stage and they cut me
off!

Im gona get replacement sell it on ebay and buy a new router.

This is a true story. I had a Belkin wireless router from PC World @ £69.99.
I set it up but it kept losing the link so I ended up taking it back after a
week. The replacement I got seemed OK for a few days but then it started
losing the link too. Once or twice a day was all, but every day and at the
worst time. So, I took that one back as well. On my way to PC World I
spotted a guy walking towards me with ... a Belkin router box, exactly the
same as mine. I stopped him to warn him that I'd had problems with them and
that I was just on my way to return the second. However.... he was on the
way to return his as well for exactly the same problem.

I decided on the refund option, went to Maplins and paid an extra £35 for a
Linksys Wireless WAG54G, which has been completely reliable for the last two
weeks (touch wood!). I've not lost the link once and the signal strength is
showing 'excellent' instead of low, as it did on the Belkin, to a PC 20 feet
away.

Good luck

Does the linksys have a url filter or parental control?

Are they free, or subscription based?

I bought a Belkin wireless modem/router and Belkin laptop wireless adapter
card and found I couldn't get any signal on my laptop once I went past two
walls from the PC and router. Borrowed a Linksys one (and laptop card) and
it gave a good signal way beyond the Belkin one. Then as an experiment, put
the Belkin card back in the laptop, still with the Linksys router hooked up,
and the signal dropped to low. Put the Linksys card back, and signal jumped
to good. Guess which setup I'm keeping.

Got the Linksys here (bought it as a replacement for a Zoom (crappy) router) and it
has been excellent so far (since July this year). Excellent wireless strength signal
and a reliable ADSL connection.
