Linksys Wireless card not linked after re-boot

I have a LinkSys router hard-wired to a PC and wirelessly connected to
my laptop running Windows 98.

The problem I am having is that each time I power-up my laptop, the
wireless connection will not be made automatically. The wireless card
will have a flashing red light on it and the Configuration Utility
will show no connection (red icon).

In order to get the connection to work, I have to hit the Rescan
button on the Configuration Utility a few times (sometimes more than a
few times and sometimes I even have to remove the wireless card and
re-insert it), but eventually the connection is made.

Once the connection is finally made, it is never lost until I shut
down the laptop and start it up again another day.

Does anyone have any hints as to why the connection cannot be made
when I start up the laptop??? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanx!

Do you have any network devices that are mapped upon boot-up? ie; map a
printer, or folder, on your host, via your laptop. Set it up to reconnect.
Then when you boot your computer, it should force the connection at that
time.

Bill -- Thanx for the reply. I do have a drive letter mapped and set
to re-connect, but I just get an error message when it tries to map
the drive that the network is not available.

Any other ideas?
