Hi,
I am trying to get the Linksys Wireless Ethernet Bridge (WET11) setup
on a computer that is running Red Hat Linux 9.0 with a built-in
ethernet card. I was able to talk to the web server in the bridge at
the factory default IP address of 192.168.1.225 by setting the
computer's IP address to 192.168.1.254, the subnet to 255.255.255.0,
and the gateway to 192.168.1.1.
I then proceeded to config the bridge to use DHCP and AdHoc mode, but
the pop-up window of the browser just keeps on spinning and spinning,
so I just closed this window after a while. When I tried to talk to
the bridge at the default factory address again, I can no longer make
a connection to it (presumably the bridge was able to find a new IP
address through DHCP, but I have no idea what that new ip address
is!).
Any suggestions on how to configure the bridge and the computer so the
bridge and the computer would work together properly?
I have a windows XP machine and a Mac OS X machine on the same
wireless network and there was zero setup to get those two computers
on-line.
thanks,
John Lin
