I could use some help from you network experts out there. I have a wireless
access point at home that I am using to share my dsl connection with a
total of 3 computers. I go from the phone jack to the dsl modem to the
linksys 54g wireless access point/4 port router. Here are the computer specs
Comp A= dell dimension 8300 3.06 ghz, windows xp pro with integrated nic,
connected to router with cat5 cable to port 1 of router(ie. comp A ,
router, and dsl modem are all sitting right next to each other.
Comp B = dell dimension 8100 1.8ghz, windows 2000, added wirel network card
(located in living room)
Comp C = dell inspiron 8000, 850 ghz, windows 2000, added a wireless
computer nic card.

All network componets ie. router, and network cards are linkys, except for
the nic on the Comp A.

I have been running this setup since June of 03 with no problems until this
past saturday. While using Comp A at about 2 O'clock to browse the internet
after 10 or 15 min. I was unable to browse anywhere, kept getting a page
cannont load screen. Comps B & C no problems using any internet applications
and checking email. I rebooted Comp A and it seemed to fix the problem until
after 10 or 15 minutes the same problem occured. I rebooted 3 or 4 times and
everytime after 10 or 15 minutes it internet explorer and microsoft outlook
would loose internet connection, while all of lights on the router are lit,
and not blinking. I did dianostic test on the Nic (everything passed) ,
replaced the cat5 cable, rebooted the router and the modem (turned them of
for 30 minutes) tried other ports on router. Ran a complete norton virus
scan, and another free one on
the internet and all seems to be clean. At 7:00 I gave up ate dinner and
watch some tv, and used Comps B & C with not problems. At about 10:30
saturday night I fired up comp A and everything was back to normal. I browed
the internet for an hour and half with out a problem.

Yesterday I played some Call of Duty and Medal of Honor online using Comp A
while my friend and his girlfriend were using the other two Comps to do some
research on the internet off and on most of the day no problems and
Saturdays events seemed to just be a fluke.. So last night before I called
it a night and headed to bed I started browsing the internet on Comp A again
and checking my email. Boom after 10 minutes I couldn't browse anywhere or
check email. Rebooted and everything worked again until I hit the 10-15
minuted mark.

Anybody have anyideas what the problem may be. Comp A is the only one having
the problem. It has all of the critical patches and then some installed.
Virus def's are up to date and scan every other day. System is clean in my
mind. But am positive that I am missing something.

I would suggest get a stand alone NIC and plug it into the machine and
see if the problem follows.
